Six Months Tomorrow

September 12, 2007, my sister-in-law, Paula, and I officially opened our Pass Your Plate franchise. These past six months have been exciting, scary, hectic, rewarding, and most of all fun. We've enjoyed having the opportunity to meet so many people and to introduce them to Pass Your Plate.

Being the first Pass Your Plate in Ohio, our biggest challenge is explaining to people what we do. The simple answer is that we help people have great dinners at home. By "great" I mean food that is deliciously flavorful with great texture. We have a wide variety of foods with lots of fresh meats, vegetables, etc. We are not necessarily low fat or low carb, but our meals are healthy and reasonably portioned.

We are a good option for anyone who feels that they are stuck with fast food for dinner because their lives are too full to manage all of the steps involved in getting a good meal on the table. Pass Your Plate does all of the planning, shopping, chopping and cleaning the kitchen. If you have time, you can come in to assemble your meals with our easy recipes. If you have other things to do, we'll put meals together for you. If you forget to order in advance, we have options in our freezer.

You might be thinking, "that sounds great, but it must cost a fortune." Actually, no. Our average entree price per serving is between $3 and $4--about what you pay for a fast food sandwich or a fraction of what you'd pay for similar food in a restaurant.

So that's what we do. In the future, I hope to tell you more about Pass Your Plate and also what it's like to open a new business. If you're in the Northeast Ohio area, you can stop in and see us. If not, Pass Your Plate has 17 locations around the US with more opening all the time. You can find out more here:
